LED Bathroom MirrorsFor A Stylish and Distinctive Bathroom

Welcome! You are looking for one of the central features of your bathroom – the mirror. But, you’re obviously not searching for any kind of mirror but one that stands out, while being stylish and complementary to the rest of your bathroom.

So, how hard can it be?

Well, the first thing that you need to realise is that there are many types of mirrors with lights out there. They range from bright bulbs attached to the top or sides of the mirror to back-lit ones to the ultimate in cool and chic: the LED bathroom mirror.

While most people have traditionally gone for the simple mirror with ordinary light bulbs,  these are often purely functional and end up consuming a fair amount of electricity. Moreover, the bulbs eventually burn and need to be replaced – how many of us have visited friends or relatives with mirror lights waiting to be replaced?

Why LED bathroom mirrors then?

Well, there are several reasons why one might choose these. First of all, as we mentioned already and as you can see from the pictures, they are very stylish:

However, rest-assured, it’s not just a matter of style. LED lights hardly use any electricity so your LED bathroom mirror will not end up costing you a lot of money even if you forget to switch the lights off (as many of us often do!).  Furthermore, LEDs will generally have a life expectancy ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 hours continuous use. Basically, this means that you’ll never have to replace any of them. So, years after years, your mirror will look great and you’ll never have to worry about having to run to the store to new buy light bulbs just before that big party you’re organising!

What else makes LED bathroom mirrors special?

Aside from aesthetic factors, good quality LED bathroom mirrors will also be designed and independently tested for compliance with electrical equipment (safety) regulations.  For example, if you intend to have your mirror in a part of your bathroom where it is likely to get wet then you should ensure that you select one that is  water resistant or splash proof. In the UK, for example, this means that your mirror (lighting) should have an IP44 rating.

Other features that you may want to look into include LED bathroom mirrors with demister glass that always stays steam-free (e.g. Demista branded ones). This is an important aspect that most of us often neglect when considering a potential bathroom mirror. Additionally, you may want to look for a mirror with a remote on/off sensor (e.g. an infra-red one) that would enable you to activate the lighting by simply waving a hand in front of the mirror without the need to touch it.
